Plant & Seed Sale

The 2023 Plant & Seed Sale will be held at Peace Church (1111 N 11th Ave E) on Saturday, May 27th from 10am to 2pm (DCGP gardeners and members can come at 9am--become a member today for early access to the sale!).

We host this event every year to provide high-quality starts and seeds to our community of gardeners, celebrate the beginning of the growing season, and fundraise for DCGP programming. Plant & Seed Sale purchases directly support community gardening in Duluth, helping our shared growing spaces stay healthy and accessible to all.

We will have beautiful transplants grown locally by Fairhaven Farm, as well as a variety of high-quality seeds (see our seed list further down on this page, transplant list coming soon).  Plants will be located inside the church, with a small selection of plants outside, weather allowing. We will have personal shopper volunteers available to help folks who can't go indoors to shop at this time. Plant menus, seeds, and check-out stations will be set up outside.

This year we are excited to have funding from Essentia Health to offer plants on a sliding scale based on income and family size. How it works: customers can use the chart below to find their income level, based on their estimated household income and family size. Each income level has a corresponding discount. The discount will be applied to transplants only, seeds and potatoes are not subject to discounts. We are so excited to be able to offer these discounts, as transplants, though priced very fairly by farmers and greenhouses, can be cost-prohibitive to some gardeners, but are very helpful in getting a head start in our short growing season. We hope that these sliding scale prices will help increase the accessibility of gardening in our community.

Seeds will be available in our office starting May 5th, ahead of the sale. Please see below for a list of the seed varieties available. Our office is open by appointment only at this time, please email Megan at megan@duluthcommunitygarden.org or call 218-722-4583 to set up a time to come in and purchase seeds (email is the quickest way to get in touch).
