Proper Harvesting Technique Workshop

Wednesday September 14th, 6pm-7pm
Learn the proper way to harvest common garden vegetables, including kale, lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and more. We will discuss the method of 'hydro-cooling' produce post harvest, and how to store them at home to keep them fresh and tasting great. Depending on availability, students may leave with free produce!
Preserving the Harvest- Canning Tomatoes

Learn how to process tomatoes, Duluth's Vegetable of the Year! In this class, you will learn how to can garden tomatoes in your home kitchen safely, and preserve their fresh summer flavor all year long. We will demonstrate how to can a pantry staple; salsa, and provide guidance and recipes on how to can marinara and raw tomatoes. Students may leave with their own salsa ingredients and jars to try at home!
