Garden Plot Scoring

Plots are scored in August, to ensure the land is being used to its fullest potential and gardeners are appropriately stewarding the land.

The Land Stewardship Committee carries out scoring based on the rubric below. Scoring is not intended to be stressful nor competitive, but rather to keep gardeners accountable to their contract and enable the Land Stewardship Committee to identify areas to improve. Environmental factors are considered in scoring, so please notify staff if conditions at your plot outside of your control hindered the success of your garden. Gardeners who visit their garden routinely to harvest, weed, and care for their crops need not stress about scoring. If you have neglected your plot to the point that it scores below a 2 on the rubric below, the Land Stewardship Coordinator will be getting in touch after scoring.
