The Duluth Community Garden Program is a 32-year-old nonprofit organization that has three programming areas: Plant-a-Lot Community Gardens, the Cannery, and Kids Gardening. The mission of the Duluth Community Garden Program is to strengthen the Duluth area community and foster self-sufficiency by providing access for all to food production and preservation resources and promoting sustainable gardening practices. We currently have 16 Plant-a lot garden sites with 195 plots of 20’ by 20’. Half of our community gardeners are at 200% of poverty level or below. Through the Cannery we provide classes, equipment and information on food preservation.
